“Health and Environmental Protection Standards for Uranium and Thorium Mill Tailings” (40 CFR 192)

  • EPA is proposing new ground water standards at facilities that extract uranium using the in-situ recovery (ISR) process. Comments are due April 27, 2015.
  • A public hearing will be held in Corpus Christi, TX on April 14, 2015. Register by April 10, 2015.
  • Another public hearing is being planned in Wyoming.  Details will be provided later.

EPA has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would revise 40 CFR 192 with new ground water protection standards at facilities that extract uranium using the in-situ recovery (ISR) process. EPA welcomes comments on the proposed rulemaking.  Comments must be received in writing by April 27, 2015.

PUBLIC HEARING, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, APRIL 14, 2015
 
EPA will hold a public hearing at the Embassy Suites Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas to allow the public to make oral presentations of data, views or arguments about the proposed revisions to 40 CFR 192. The public hearing will be held April 14, 2015.  Register by April 10, 2015.
