Title:

Concerning Solutions of the STORET/NWIS Compatibility Issues  

WHEREAS, the US Geological Survey (USGS) works collaboratively with the states in gathering ground water data; and

WHEREAS, no efficient electronic system to enter USGS data into the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new STORET data system exists; and 

WHEREAS, the USGS Water Resources Division and the EPA Assessment and Watershed Protection Division entered into an agreement on the STORET/NWIS compatibility issue on May 17, 2000 ;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Ground Water Protection Council urges the USGS and EPA to actively pursue the “actions to achieve the goals” of the may 17, 2000 agreement to enable easy integration of data in both STORET and NWIS by the public for analysis of such data.
