Source Water
Protection (SWP)

"Source water is untreated water from
streams, rivers, lakes or underground aquifers that is used to provide
public drinking water, as well to supply private wells used for human
consumption."
In June 2003 the USEPA held a conference on the
protection of Source Water. To view a summary of that conference click
HERE. The GWPC
supports the efforts of USEPA and other groups to protect drinking water at its
source. By protecting these waters from contamination we help insure a
supply of water that is fit for human consumption without the need for
treatment.
At the GWPC 2005 Annual Forum in Portland, Oregon
